CALGARY — A suspected taxi thief in Calgary is facing charges after drawing some unwanted attention with a 911 call.
Police say a cab driver was assaulted early this morning by a customer who then stole the taxi.
About three hours later, a call for help came in from the cab’s cellphone.
Police say the caller had been involved in a traffic accident and needed helped.
Officers were able to locate the cab and the caller southwest of Calgary.
The taxi driver was not seriously hurt.
