The 15-year-old male, who cannot be named due to the youth criminal justice act, is alleged to have entered the Bayshore Market, on Lakeshore Drive, on Feb. 28 shortly after 10 p.m. Once inside, he brandished a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk.

No one was hurt during the robbery and a suspect made off with some cash.

Sylvan Lake RCMP and a police dog were called in to assist in the search for a suspect after the incident but they were unsuccessful.

With public assistance, the teen was arrested on March 6 without incident.

He faces charges including robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm and using a firearm while committing an indictable offence. He has been remanded into custody and will be in Red Deer provincial court on March 13.
