The Town of Sylvan Lake is hosting a town hall meeting on Wednesday to increase public awareness on the need for an urgent care centre in the community.

An urgent care centre would bring round-the-clock, non-life-threatening medical care to the town and surrounding communities.

Information will be offered on what services the centre would provide, why it is needed and how the public can go about convincing the provincial government to bankroll the project.

Speakers will include Mayor Susan Samson and Dr. Brad Bahler.

A short question-and-answer period will follow.

The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Sylvan Lake Community Centre, at 4725 43rd St.
