Synchro Club brings home hardware from Lethbridge

Kyra McMurray of the Red Deer Synchronized Swim Club finished third in the routine and struck gold in the championship portion of the 10 and under solo event of the Wildrose Classic meet in Lethbridge during the weekend.

McMurray also placed first in the 10 and under figures in the Wildrose Classic, which is the provincial championship.

Meanwhile, Kallan Packard and Mercedes Patrick won bronze in the 12 and under duets third routine and were fourth in the 12 and under team event. Mercedes Patrick also finished fourth in the 12 and under figures.

In the 13-15 duet event, Emma Dickman and Kate Jensen claimed bronze in the championship section and were third in the routine. The quartet of Jensen, Dickman, Heather Mast and Larissa Kaube were fifth in the routine and fifth in the championship of the 13-15 team division.

• Red Deer synchronized swimmers Emilie Unrau and Claire Halford qualified for the national championship at Toronto May 22-27 as part of the Calgary Killarney Club.

Unrau was third in the 12 and under compulsory figures and Halford was eighth. The Killarney team captured gold in the team and championship events.
