Kyra McMurray of the Red Deer Synchronized Swimming Club placed first in each of the 10 and under figures and solo routine/championship events in the Wildrose provincial qualifier at Edmonton during the weekend.

Meanwhile, Emma Dickman and Kate Jensen took top honours in the 13-15 duet routine and finished third in the duet championship.

In addition, Mercedes Patrick finished third in the 12 and under figures and teamed with Kallan Packard to place third in the duet. Also finishing third was the Red Deer 12 and under team routine and championship foursome of McMurray, Packard, Patrick and Mya Freeman.

In the 13-15 team competition, the contingent of Dickman, Jensen, Heather Mast and Larissa Kaube placed third, and Mast was sixth in the 13-15 figures.

Red Deer athletes will attend the provincial championship April 20-22 in Lethbridge.
