Take care leaving voicemail

I’d like to offer a suggestion to people leaving messages on voicemail.

I’d like to offer a suggestion to people leaving messages on voicemail.

Here at Medicine River Wildlife Centre each year we have several messages we aren’t able to respond to due to mistakes made when the person leaves the message and 2011 seemed to be one of the worst.

We have people who get so excited about the wildlife issue they’re reporting that they actually forget to leave a phone number, others speak so fast that we absolutely cannot make out what they’ve said.

We have had times when there is some static on the line and we can’t make out the message and still others who leave a message then don’t stay near their phone.

I’d like to suggest that if you leave a message somewhere that is urgent and no one responds in an hour do phone again to make sure the message was received and don’t assume that your being ignored or forgotten.

Two important habits to get into when leaving a message is to speak slowly and leave your phone number twice during your message, once at the beginning and again at the end.

It seems we all communicate by voicemail more and more so let’s be careful to make those messages clear enough to get the results we are looking for.
