CALGARY — Police in Calgary have charged a female teacher with sexually assaulting a teenager.

Officers allege that Jennifer Mason, who is 30, started a relationship with the boy when he was 15 in August 2012. He was a student at the Catholic school, which has now suspended her from teaching.

Police say they started an investigation last November after receiving a public tip about suspicious activity in a vehicle.

Mason also faces charges of invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference and sexual exploitation by a person in a position of trust.

She is to appear in court on Feb. 28.
