Team from Norway joins Cougar Classic

The annual Notre Dame Cougar Classic senior volleyball tournament will feature a team from Norway on the boys’ side.

The annual Notre Dame Cougar Classic senior volleyball tournament will feature a team from Norway on the boys’ side.

They will play in a pool with the Cougars, Ross Sheppard of Edmonton and William Aberhart of Calgary.

The Cougars clash with Norway in their opening match at 9 a.m. Friday before facing William Aberhart at 3:45 p.m. and Ross Sheppard at 6 p.m. Norway takes on Ross Sheppard at 11:15 a.m. and Aberhart at 4:45 p.m.

Paul Kane of St. Albert, Dr. E.P. Scarlett and Bishop O’Byrne of Calgary and Memorial of Stony Plain are in Pool B.

The playoffs begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with the semifinals at 2:45 p.m. and the final at 5:45 p.m.

The girls’ side has a six-team round-robin with Notre Dame clashing with Ross Sheppard at 12:15 p.m., Memorial at 1:30 p.m., and Dr. E.P. Scarlett at 9:15 p.m. Friday. They clash with William Aberhart at 10 a.m. and Paul Kane at 11 a.m. Saturday,

The best-of-five semifinals go at 1 p.m. Saturday with the best-of-five final at 4 p.m.
