Tarun Bendle, left, and Danielle Coolman of Calgary were so focused in their playoff game that they found themselves going for the same serve at the Jonathan Walsh Memorial pro volleyball tournament on the pier at Sylvan Lake Sunday afternoon. The B.C. duo of Tammy Thomas and Carly Hamilton defeated Vania Gamache and Emmy Blouin of Calgary in the women’s final, winning $800 in the process. In the men’s final, Chaim Schalk of Red Deer and Tim Gourlay of Grande Prairie fell to the B.C. pair of Nick Del Bianco and Steve Marshall, who also earned $800. The men’s and women’s runners-up each won $600, while the bronze medalists — Mike Funk and Kelly Cherniwchan of Calgary and Renee Larocque and Leanne Snyder of Calgary — won $400.
