Teenager airlifted to hospital by STARS

A teenage male patient was airlifted by STARS air ambulance to a hospital in Edmonton following a single-vehicle rollover south of Rimbey on Tuesday afternoon. Rimbey RCMP, Rimbey Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident on Lockhart Road around 2 p.m.

A teenage male patient was airlifted by STARS air ambulance to a hospital in Edmonton following a single-vehicle rollover south of Rimbey on Tuesday afternoon. Rimbey RCMP, Rimbey Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident on Lockhart Road around 2 p.m. The male was the lone passenger in the vehicle and he was not wearing a seatbelt. STARS spokesperson Cam Heke said the patient was ejected from the vehicle. The male was transported by ground ambulance to Rimbey Hospital and was then transported by STARS to the University of Alberta Hospital. The name, age and injuries of the patient were not released. The accident is still under investigation.
