Imagine my dismay when I went to work on Wednesday after watching the wonderful Westerner Days parade to find that we had been vandalized.
I work at the Cronquist House at Bower Ponds; we have two pews that have sat on the front verandah of the house since we salvaged them from the convent before it was demolished.
One of the pews was missing! After searching around the ponds, it was finally found behind the stage in the pond.
We were very happy to find the pew but did not know how we would get it out of the water.
A very huge thank you to Garry Griffin and Ryan Christian of Griffin Construction for coming to our aid and retrieving the pew from the pond and putting it back where it belongs, water logged but still intact. Thank you both so much on behalf of the society.
