St. Martin De Porres Grade 4 teacher Kenton Biffert works with students Pierre Parras, centre, and Luke Puto as they build a popsicle stick bridge. Using only 250 popsicle sticks, the pair and classmate Nick Barrett were to build a bridge that could take on a load and look good doing it. The contest brought together Grade 4 and 5 students from the Red Deer Catholic Regional School District for a day of learning and team building. About 56 gifted students came together at St. Francis of Assisi Middle School in Red Deer for the event.
