Cam McDevitt marvels at the Olympic torch held by Milaine Theriault at Parkland Mall recently. McDevitt and others with developmental and physical challenges were on hand for a celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The World Health Organization reports that around 10 per cent of the world’s population, or 650 million people, live with disabilities and marks the day to better inform people of the myriad of types of challenges faced and of services available for the disabled. The Red Deer event, with an information fair of many supportive organizations, did just that
