FORT SASKATCHEWAN — A freight train carrying hazardous material has derailed north of Edmonton, but the railway says there was no leakage.

The accident happened early Wednesday morning at the CN rail yard in Fort Saskatchewan.

Dozens of cars went off the tracks.

CN spokesman Warren Chandler says some of the cars contained flammable liquids like diesel gas and propylene, but he says emergency officials report that none of the material has leaked from the cars.

There were no injuries.

Operations continue to get the cars back in motion.
