RCMP are searching for a truck driver who attempted to abduct a hitchhiker near Hobbema.
A woman hitchhiking on Hwy 2A about three km south of the town told police a green tractor trailer hauling two flatbed trailers pulled over about 11:15 a.m.
“The suspect then grabbed the female and attempted to drag her toward his vehicle,” says a news release from Ponoka RCMP acting Cpl. Gary MacLaren. When another truck approached the man let go of the woman.
Police are asking the driver of the second truck to contact them to provide any information about the truck or its driver.
