Truck that hit car going 80 km/h: Calgary police

Police say that a stolen truck that killed a Calgary mother was likely going between 70 and 80 kmh when it ran a red light and slammed into her vehicle.One suspect is now being held on outstanding warrants while the one police believe was driving is facing numerous charges.

CALGARY — Police say that a stolen truck that killed a Calgary mother was likely going between 70 and 80 kmh when it ran a red light and slammed into her vehicle.

One suspect is now being held on outstanding warrants while the one police believe was driving is facing numerous charges.

Three people were in the car that was struck.

The woman’s teenage son, who was driving, was released form hospital while his father, who was in the passenger seat, was listed in serious but stable condition.

Police were not chasing the truck when it crashed.

The suspects fled the scene after the accident, but were tracked down and identified by eyewitnesses.
