Truck, train collide in Bowden on Tuesday

A 52-year-old man is fighting for his life in Foothills Medical Centre after the semi truck he was driving collided with a CP train in Bowden on Tuesday.

A 52-year-old man is fighting for his life in Foothills Medical Centre after the semi truck he was driving collided with a CP train in Bowden on Tuesday.

Olds RCMP Cpl. Mike Black said the semi was heading east on Hwy 2A and 17th Avenue when it crossed the tracks and collided with a northbound train around 11:44 a.m.

The driver was airlifted to Calgary by STARS Air Ambulance.

The man is in serious but stable conditions.

Police and CP Rail are investigating.
