Five hopefuls are vying for a spot around the board of trustees table for the Wolf Creek School Division.
A byelection will be held on Nov. 16 to replace former Ward 5 trustee Jancee Hawthorne, who stepped down in August to move with her family to Sparwood, B.C.
Blackfalds resident John Anderson and Lacombe’s Dana Edmundson, Fred Knip, Judy Ventry and Barbara Walker threw their hats into the ring.
Schools in Blackfalds, Lacombe and parts of Lacombe County are located in Ward 5. The new trustee will share duties with trustee Bob Huff.
The elected person will sit as the Ward 5 trustee until the next general election in October 2013.
