Heading down the home stretch of the track at Lindsay Thurber High School, Marcus MacUmber leads as Braydon Norrad and Amelia Espey follow as they participate in the school’s Turkey Trot on Tuesday. Twenty-one students and staff members took part in the annual event which is a fundraiser for the Terry Fox Run. The four participants who finish the run/walk closest to their estimated time are awarded with a turkey. Other schools in the city are also running their own Turkey Trot runs this week including Mattie McCullough Elementary today and West Park Middle School on Thursday.
