LAC LA BICHE — Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 36-year-old man in northern Alberta.
RCMP say Hector Cardinal of Lac La Biche died of blunt force trauma stemming from an alleged altercation in the community on Monday.
One of the young suspects was arrested Tuesday evening and will appear in a Lac La Biche courtroom Jan. 4.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the second teen.
A second altercation in the community the same day left another man from the area in an Edmonton hospital with life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say they have not yet been able to make any direct links between the violent incidents.
