Two men charged after nightclub brawl

Red Deer City RCMP have charged two men with weapons-related charges after a brawl at a nightclub last month that left one man seriously injured.

A fight had broken out near the dance floor of the Tequila Night Club in the early morning hours of Jan. 22, resulting in a 25-year-old man being stabbed in the torso.

Police said at the time that the victim and his friends left the bar and went to the hospital. The man underwent surgery.

RCMP have since charged James Lee-Bernick, 27, of Red Deer County, and Vibert Davis, 38, each with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Lee-Bernick was released from custody with certain conditions placed on his release.

Police reported on Wednesday that Davis was still in policy custody.
