Two men have been charged with attempted murder in a violent home invasion in central Alberta involving a hammer and a hatchet.

DIDSBURY — Two men have been charged with attempted murder in a violent home invasion in central Alberta involving a hammer and a hatchet.

Seven people in a Didsbury house were doused with bear spray and three of them were beaten with the tools.

Police say two assailants dressed all in black forced their way into the home in what appears to have been a targeted attack.

Injuries to one of the people were originally life-threatening, but the victim is now stable in hospital.

Jesse Boyd Beach of Carstairs and Scott Lockhart Demolitor of Langdon — both 18 — face multiple counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and other charges.

Beach was to appear in Didsbury provincial court today, while Demolitor’s court date is set for Monday.
