A head-on collision involving a taxi van and a pickup truck just south of Edmonton has killed two people and left two others in hospital.

LEDUC — A head-on collision involving a taxi van and a pickup truck just south of Edmonton has killed two people and left two others in hospital.

RCMP say the dead include 37-year-old men who were passengers in the taxi when the crash happened early Wednesday morning in Leduc.

Another man in his 30s who was also a passenger was ejected and is in stable condition, while the 38-year-old van driver has critical injuries.

All three passengers were from another province.

A 35-year-old Alberta man who was driving the truck was not hurt, but a 25-year-old woman who was with him has minor injuries.

The names of the men who died have not been released, and police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
