Two people killed after car fails to stop at Calgary area highway junction

Two people have been killed in a highway crash just east of Calgary.

CALGARY — Two people have been killed in a highway crash just east of Calgary.

RCMP say just after midnight, a small car carrying the two went through a stop sign and collided with a semi at the junction of highways 22X and 791.

Both people died at the scene while the truck driver wasn’t hurt.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Police say they don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
