A water truck and a Red Deer Catholic Regional school bus collided causing minor injuries to both drivers and the lone student on the bus early Tuesday morning.

Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to the two-vehicle collision at Hwy 11 and Range Road 15 (60th Street) in Sylvan Lake around 7:30 a.m.

Witnesses told police that a west bound water truck struck the school bus that had turned north onto Range Road 15 crossing the path of the water truck.

Police credit the driver of the water truck who took evasive actions to avoid striking the bus head-on.

The investigation continues.
