Westerner Days are almost here.

Between July 20 and July 24, Westerner Park will be alive with the sound of laughter and music coming from Central Alberta’s largest summer celebration.

Westerner marketing manager Roxanne Kirton said the fair and exposition has something for the entire family.

A number of returning acts and first-time attractions are all part of the five days of fun.

A variety of activities will be on tap for the little ones, including face painting, a petting zoo, a Kids’ Tractor Pull and the Sunny Family Fun Zone.

Three new rides have been added to the North American Midway Ride attraction — Monster Truck ride for the children and the Alien Abduction/Starship and Mega Drop for adults.

Other attractions include the nightly pony chuckwagon races, starting at 6 p.m., and the 19th Street Market, near the Midway Boulevard in the Prairie Pavilion. The agricultural exhibit in the AFSC Livestock Pavilion (Agricentre East) will feature beef shows, rabbit and goat competitions and much more.

Musical entertainment is provided on the two main stages — Main Stage and Molson Canadian Ranch — featuring a wide range of artists. Check the Westerner Days website (www.westernerdays.ca) for the artists appearing.

Award-winning country artist Johnny Reid performs at the Centrium on July 23. Tickets are $53.

The Northern Lights Fireworks Show will light up the sky starting at 10:45 p.m. on July 22 depending on the weather.
