Nearly 900 breeding swine were loaded onto a Boeing 777 cargo jet at the Winnipeg airport early Tuesday, May 26, 2009 and flown non-stop to Germany before shipment by truck to Russia. The company that arranged the trip says the animals were provided with food and water during their journey, although there was no in-flight movie.
