Why aren’t candidates showing up at forums?

Last night I attended an election forum in Bentley. I was informed that all candidates were informed well in advance of the date and time.A crowd in excess of 75 people from the surrounding district were present, yet only one candidate, the independent running for re-election as MLA, Joe Anglin was present to field question from the audience.

I was informed by friends that a forum in Eckville two days previous was treated the same way by both the PC and the Wildrose candidates

I wonder if the no shows consider that the electors of the aforementioned communities do not count, or are they afraid to sit in question at the same forum as Anglin?

I wonder if the same is going to happen at the Sundre Forum. I wonder if any questions related to ethics and integrity will be allowed to be asked. A wise man once said “the public generally gets the kind of government that they deserve not necessarily the one they want or need,” because we as electors do not demand ethics or integrity from those we elect.
