Why is Harper wasting our money with a trip to Israel?

Is anyone else as upset about the current trip to Israel by our prime minister as I am?I would have no problem if Stephen Harper had hopped a plane and gone to see the Prime Minister of Israel and then come home.

Is anyone else as upset about the current trip to Israel by our prime minister as I am?

I would have no problem if Stephen Harper had hopped a plane and gone to see the Prime Minister of Israel and then come home.

But no. A delegation of 200 or so folks have gone.

I ask: What is this costing me as a taxpayer? I am sure that they are not staying in a homeless shelter and eating at a food bank.

No, it will be five-star service and luxury all the way.

I keep asking myself: Why all this show of pomp and luxury?

Is it to show the world that Canada is a rich nation?

Or is it to avoid the reality in Canada of a government that is putting the lives of Canadians at risk in many ways, including cutting the transfer funds to the provinces each year until 2020 for health care?

Is it so that the Harper government can avoid answering questions about putting the lives of Canadians at risk by firing the boards that had been put in place to monitor the safety of our waterways?

Is it so that the Harper government can avoid answering questions about putting the lives of Canadians at risk after dismantling the boards that were put in place to monitor air quality?

For me, this is a great expense that was not necessary and for which I have not heard a clear answer as to the necessity of it.

In this age of modern communications systems, we as Canadians should not be paying these unnecessary bills.
