The Thrashers, who trailed 2-1 after one period and outscored the Wranglers 2-1 in the second stanza, got additional goals from Jamie Fabian, Joel Harrison and Corbin Weston. Replying for Blackfalds, assessed eight of 11 minor penalties and two misconducts, were Riley Hansen, Jason Bell, Logan Biberdorf and Derek Wiedmer.

Three Hills netminder Cody Boeckman made 30 saves. Layne Swier stopped 32 shots at the other end.

In other Heritage League weekend contests involving Central Alberta teams:

l The Stettler Lightning split a pair of games, falling 7-3 to the visiting Cochrane Generals Saturday, 24 hours after downing the visiting Strathmore Wheatland Kings 2-0.

Kyler O’Connor, Brett Wold and Mitch Finkbiner scored against Cochrane. Simon Thieleman made 46 saves for the Lightning, who were outshot 53-29.

Jacob Schwarzenberger and Steve Blacklock scored against Strathmore, while Landon Schmidt made 37 saves for the shutout. Each team had 37 shots.

Elsewhere Saturday, the Rimbey Rock travelled to Coaldale and were hammered 10-4 by the Copperheads.

Shane Dowell tallied twice for the Rock, with Justin Lawson and Dillon Adrain also connecting. Rimbey netminders Jarren Nickle and Robert McGuinness combined to make 40 saves as the visitors were outshot 50-28.

l Three Hills dropped a 5-4 decision to the host Airdrie Thunder Friday, getting three goals from Weston and one from Joel Harrison in a losing cause.

The Thrashers, who got a 36-save effort from Christian Santer, outshot their hosts 50-41.

l The Ponoka Stampeders were 6-4 losers to the Mountainview Colts Saturday at Didsbury.
