Wildrose promises charity support

The Wildrose Alliance is promising more support for non-profit organizations and charities if they are elected to lead the province.

EDMONTON — The Wildrose Alliance is promising more support for non-profit organizations and charities if they are elected to lead the province.

The party unveiled their social support policy on Monday in Calgary.

The plan includes introducing a volunteer tax credit and a promise to not pull back income support for Albertans who choose to enter the workforce.

The party’s leader, Danielle Smith, says the Wildrose would give stable funding to non-profit organizations with proven track records and more tax incentives to donors.

She says they want to put programs in place that make it easier for people to contribute to the charities they support.
