EDMONTON — The mystery behind Edmonton’s Edmonton’s newest millionaire will soon be solved.
Lottery officials say a news conference will be held Thursday to introduce a woman who checked her ticket last weekend and found out it was good for $20 million.
Witnesses said they watched the woman calmly roll up the Lotto 649 ticket and stick it back in her handbag after a clerk told her what it was worth.
Ernie Dorman was on hand at the time and said the woman appeared to be in her late 20s or early 30s.
The store clerk says the woman is a regular customer who often buys lottery tickets at the gas station.
The ticket was one of two winning tickets for the $41 million jackpot, drawn on March 20.
The other $20.6 million ticket has been claimed by Bonnie Pierce of London, Ont.
