A Red Deer woman accused of injuring three others while driving under the influence of alcohol is to enter her pleas later this month.

Kelsey Jean Machuik, 25, was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on July 21 by Red Deer City RCMP investigating a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 30th Avenue and 55th Street.

Police allege in a statement issued after the crash that a southbound pickup truck collided with a northbound car while attempting to make a left-hand turn.

The statement advised that three people who had been in the car suffered varying degrees of injuries, although none were considered life-threatening.

There was no evidence of injury to the truck’s driver.

Machuik is to enter her pleas in Red Deer provincial court on Sept. 16 on three counts each of impaired driving causing bodily harm, causing bodily harm while driving when her blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Machuik was released from custody after the charges were laid.
