Woman on bike ride with father killed by truck on southern Alberta highway

RCMP say a woman having trouble riding her bicycle along a southern Alberta highway veered into traffic and was struck and killed by a truck.

OKOTOKS — RCMP say a woman having trouble riding her bicycle along a southern Alberta highway veered into traffic and was struck and killed by a truck.

The father of the 20-year-old woman had been riding his bike with her when she was hit on Highway 7 just west of Okotoks.

She died at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions for about two hours while investigators interviewed witnesses.

Police say they still want to talk to motorists who saw the accident.

They have not yet determined if any charges will be laid.
