HOBBEMA — A man suffering from stab wounds died on a First Nation south of Edmonton.

RCMP in Hobbema say they were called to a home on the Samson Cree Nation on Saturday evening.

They say they found a 34-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He later died in hospital and police say charges are now pending against a 30-year-old woman who was in the home.

Violence has been a problem on the four reserves that surround Hobbema, and some residents have said gang violence has gotten out of control.

RCMP, however, say in a news release that they believe the Saturday’s incident was “domestic related.”

The name of the man who died hasn’t been released.
