Red Deer City RCMP are treating the death of a woman found dead in Red Deer as a homicide investigation.
RCMP said in a late Thursday afternoon press release that in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation, no details — such as cause of death, where the deceased was found or her identity — are being released.
On Wednesday morning, Red Deer City RCMP responded to a complaint of a deceased woman located within the city limits.
The RCMP general investigation section and forensic identification section were called to assist.
An autopsy on Thursday afternoon upgraded the suspicious death investigation to a murder investigation.
