The Wranglers led 3-2 after 20 minutes on goals by Karson French, Justin Lawson and Lucas Fraser with Jared Williams and Lawson connecting in the second period and French in the third.

Reagan Hughes finished with 27 saves in the Blackfalds net while his mates had 37 shots on goal.

Meanwhile in Stettler the homestanding Lightning edged the Three Hills Thrashers 5-4 on Landon Potter’s goal at 4:44 of overtime.

Shayne Blacklock led the Lightning with three goals while Brett Ouellette added a single marker.

Joel Harrison had two goals for the Thrashers with singles added by Michael Stoetzel and Connor Ablett.

Simon Thieleman made 32 saves in goal for Stettler while Brady Hoover made 25 stops for Three Hills.
