The Blackfalds Wranglers, with Karson French scoring twice, downed the Mountainview Colts 4-2 Saturday at Didsbury to complete a sweep of the best-of-seven Heritage Junior B Hockey League North Division final.
Kristopher Dalton and Jared Guilbault also tallied for the Wranglers, who notched three unanswered second-period goals after a scoreless opening frame. Gaige Weseen and Mason Milgate replied for the Colts, who directed 44 shots at Blackfalds netminder Layne Swier.
Mountainview goaltender Ethan Jemieff was even busier than Swier, making 59 saves. The Colts’ lack of discipline cost them as they were assessed 28 of 37 minor penalties.
The Wranglers will face the Okotoks Bisons in the league final. The Bisons swept their South Division final versus the Cochrane Generals with a 6-3 win Friday.
