The Okotoks Bisons struck for four first-period goals Friday and captured the Heritage Junior B Hockey League championship with a 7-2 win over the visiting Blackfalds Wranglers.

The Okotoks Bisons struck for four first-period goals Friday and captured the Heritage Junior B Hockey League championship with a 7-2 win over the visiting Blackfalds Wranglers.

The Bisons swept the best-of-seven series.

Dillon Loomer fired three goals for the winners, who also got a pair from Lukas Mikkelsen and singles off the sticks of Kevan Mikkelsen and Colin MacMurdo. Jared Guilbault and Chance Abbott replied for the Wranglers, who outshot their hosts 46-43.

Both clubs will compete in the Alberta junior B championship tournament April 5-8 at Okotoks.
