Lacombe County will host voluntary farm vehicle safety checks later this month.

“The key theme for these inspections is safety,” said Mark Sproule, senior community peace officer for Lacombe County. “We want farmers to bring their vehicles to us without fear of receiving a ticket.”

Commercial vehicle inspectors will be on hand to conduct safety inspections under the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. If safety violations are found, they will be noted on a personalized vehicle inspection report and instructions given to the driver on how to proceed with repairs.

A May 30 session will take place at the county’s west shop at Rainy Creek Road near Range Road 3-0.

A May 31 session takes place at the east county shop at Hwy 12 and Hwy 821, near Tees.

Both sessions run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
