The City of Red Deer is looking for citizens to serve as alternates on the Municipal Planning Commission.

According to a release, the MPC meets Wednesdays at 9 a.m. when they are required and acts as an authority in all matters assigned under the Land Use Bylaw, Council or by the Development Officer. The alternate position will attend meetings if one of the regular committee members cannot attend.

“This position is a great opportunity for someone who would like to gain experience on a board,” said Rebecca Derwantz, Committees Coordinator. “The alternate member receives complete training and has all the voting authority of regular members at those meetings.”
