Underground utility upgrades will cause a closure of 48 Street from 48 Avenue to 49 Avenue starting Feb. 26.
The City of Red Deer advised drivers of the closure on Wednesday, saying working is expected to be complete by March 15, depending on the weather.
Access to 48 Street from 49 Avenue will be limited for the duration of the project, and pedestrian traffic will be maintained along the south side of 48 Street during construction.
The city also encouraged drivers to slow down in construction zones and follow on-site signs.
