Red Deer RCMP arrested a 32-year-old Red Deer County man this week after a string of robberies.

Police say the first reported robbery with a knife took place on Feb. 6 around 3:10 p.m. at the Eastview shopping centre.

Nearly half an hour later, police received reports of a robbery with a knife at a gas station in Deer Park. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle after taking a small amount of cash.

Video surveillance helped police identify the suspect and the vehicle used.

Police executed a search warrant at a property just south of the city limits, where they seized items used in the commission of the robberies, including the knife and clothing worn by the suspect. Police also recovered the stolen cash.

The male is due in Red Deer court on Feb. 12.
