As Seabrooke retires, Red Deer names new acting City Manager

Tara Lodewyk will take over as Red Deer’s acting City Manager on Saturday.

Lodewyk steps in after the retirement of City Manager Allan Seabrooke, who had been in the position for two years. Friday was Seabrooke’s last day.

Lodewyk has been working with the City for nine years and has been leading a division for five of those years. In 2020, she took on the role of General Manager of the Development and Protective Services (DPS) division.

The DPS division will now be led by Ken McMullen as acting General Manager. Taking over his role as acting manager/ chief of Emergency Services on a rotational basis is Deputy Chief Tyler Pelke for five weeks, followed by Deputy Chief Chris Kearns for another five weeks.

Lodewyk will be acting City Manager until a new City Manager is hired by City Council through a formal hiring process.
