It wasn’t the banner weekend they had hoped for, but several Central Alberta products had strong showings at the Alberta Men’s Amateur Championship in Calgary.

Brady McKinlay of Lacombe was the region’s top finisher, ended the 54-hole tournament at the Calgary Golf and Country Club tied for 11th with a six-over-par 216.

Sylvan Lake’s Carter Graf ended up tied for 20th. He shot a 76 in the opening round but rebounded with a 74 in round two and a 68 in the final round Thursday.

Red Deer’s Cole Bergheim was in the hunt after a 69 in the first round but faltered a bit in the final two. He shot 76 on Wednesday and finished the tournament with a 75, for a 10-over 220.

Logan Graf of Sylvan Lake ended up tied for 30th with an 11-over-par and Red Deer’s Michael McAdam was tied for 39th.
