The City of Red Deer’s transit system will be fully operational as of Sunday.

The city says riders will experience regular services, along with some new wrinkles as well.

“The new system’s full service does not just mirror what the old system looked like before reducing services for COVID-19,” said transit manager George Penny.

“The new network actually enables us within existing resources to increase frequency, hours and schedules on key routes to ensure we provide the service our riders need to move about our whole community.

“The new routes offer more evenly distributed services throughout the city, with longer run times on some of our core routes.”

Some of the new changes starting Sunday include 15-minute service on the Gaetz Avenue Rapid Bus at peak times on weekdays, earlier morning and later evening service and 30-minute service restored to most routes, Monday to Saturday.
