A series of free community concerts will be performed at Red Deer College over the next few weeks, courtesy of MusiCamp Alberta.
Participating music students and professional musicians will perform diverse programs as part of Alberta’s largest and longest running summer music camp.
Faculty and guest recitals will be held nightly at 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 29 to Aug. 9. They will feature concert bands, jazz bands and musical theatre performers.
As well, on Saturday, Aug. 3, a 2 p.m. show will be performed featuring the Francis E. Dunnigan Concert Band and David J. Peterkin Symphonic Band. (Ken Rogers and Gareth Jones are directors).
On Saturday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m., the David J. Peterkin Symphonic Band and Jazz Bands will play (Gareth Jones, Mark DeJong, Joel Gray, Morgan McKee and Lindsay Woolgar are directors).
And on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m., the Musical Theatre Intensive and Performance students will put on a show, with Tara Koett as director.
All concerts are free and are at the RDC Arts Centre, Mainstage. No tickets are required.
