Red Deer RCMP has arrested and charged an alleged drug dealer following a multi-week investigation.

Samantha Lewis, 34, was arrested July 15 in Sylvan Lake following a drug deal. She was found in possession of one ounce of cocaine and a prohibited weapon, according to police.

She was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Another individual who was arrested at the time is accused of possessing one and a half ounces of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The accused had $11,100 in cash.

Charges are pending.

“A seizure of this magnitude equates to approximately 100 doses of cocaine,” said Sgt. Paul Glanville.

“This not only causes harm on an individual user level, but on a community level, has trickle-down crime impacts stemming from impairment and drug dealing.”
