Three Red Deer bridge decks are scheduled for maintenance.
Starting Friday, 67th Street bridge eastbound, as well as both sides of the Taylor Drive bridge will be micro-surfaced. Kerry Wood Drive from west of Farrell Avenue to Oak Drive will also be micro-surfaced.
Mirco-surfacing is a road preservation treatment to extend the life of the pavement anywhere from five to eight years.
Drivers will notice a rougher surface texture on a micro-surfaced road. This feature improves skid resistance, but also tends to be noisier.
Construction on the bridge decks will occur in off-peak hours and traffic will be reduced to one lane.
On Kerry Wood Drive, traffic will also be down to one lane with a flag person managing traffic flow.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
