A local fastball team is set to help those in need.

The Red Deer Rage U16B Girls fastball group will donate flats of water to the Red Deer Mustard Seed on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

The team will be in full uniform, brigade style delivering water to the Mustard Seed.

They are also challenging all other Red Deer Athletic teams to donate and support the community.

In a release Wednesday, the Mustard Seed Red Deer said they were facing an emergency situation because they had run out of water bottles to support those living on the street.

The agency noted that with temperatures expected to reach into the high 30s next week, the vulnerable population will need more support.

Safe Harbour Society also said they are in urgent need of donations for their clients to help prevent dehydration and heat exhaustion.
